HTC beats Samsung to the Android 4.3 punch
Good news AT&T HTC One users, your device will be upgraded to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean this week. AT&T has approved the HTC One ROM for its network, and the over-the-air update should begin this week for AT&T HTC One owners. This was confirmed by Jason MacKenzie, HTC USA President, via his Twitter account today.
Good news for One users on AT&T. 4.3 update passed AT&T certification today. Will begin to push to your phones early next week. @HTCUSA

HTC has beat Samsung to the punch when it comes to the rollout of the Android 4.3 update. Samsung has yet to confirm a time frame for its rollout of Android 4.3 to the Galaxy S4 (perhaps all that extra software wasn’t such a good idea after all Samsung?). However, the difference between Android 4.2 and 4.3 isn’t very big, with Android 4.3 giving more under the hood updates like OpenGLS 3.0 support rather than any big user interface changes. However, it does highlight the importance of Android OEMs needing to stay focused on upgrading their current devices instead of just releasing another model a few months later.
HTC One users on AT&T’s network (not those with the Google Play Edition) should see their update some time this week. HTC has not commented on when Verizon customers will receive the same update, but hopefully it will be soon. Sprint customers should be seeing the update soon, if they haven’t already received it, as the Sprint variant began rolling out its update last week.
