What do you do to breathe some life into your previous generation console? Shrink it, of course, in both size and price. Just how Sony shrunk the Playstation 2 after the Playstation 3′s launch, Nintendo has announced the Wii Mini, a smaller version of the Wii that shook-shook-waggle-waggled off store shelves in 2007. Available December 7, the Wii Mini will launch with a $99 price and a new sleek black and Mario red look.
The Wii Mini will come packaged with a red Wii-mote that includes Wii Motion Plus, matching red Nunchuk, sensor bar, and a standard definition cable; however, no other accessories or games are included. But Americans looking to put a Wii Mini under the Christmas tree better get their passports ready, as the Wii Mini will only be available in Canada this holiday season. While this may seem strange, it is worth noting that many stores are selling the Wii in the US for $130 or less.
