Major game publishers such as Electronic Arts (EA), Ubisoft, Capcom, and Rockstar have been porting some of our favorite console titles for some time now. Games such as Grand Theft Auto III, Marvel vs. Capcom, Street Fighter, and Dead Space are proof that triple-A console titles can be ported into triple-A iOS games. However, if there’s one thing that’s not triple-A is the controls on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch with the touch interface. There are some games that just demand a physical controller, but Apple still has yet to provide a solution.
Where Apple doesn’t deliver, the Bladepad does. The Bladepad is an iPhone case with a game controller built right in. iPhone users simply snap their iPhone into this protective case, and then slide out the Bladepad out from the bottom. The Bladepad has everything console gamers want: four buttons on the face with an additional two bumper buttons at the top, a D-pad, and not one, but two, analog joysticks!

The Bladepad also detaches from the protective case as well, providing even more portability.

The Bladepad harnesses the power of Bluetooth 4.0, so only the iPhone 4S and iPad 3 can take advantage of this awesome case right now. For those waiting for the iPhone 5, Bladepad has you covered. Currently on Bladepad’s Kickstarter page, you can preorder your own iPhone 5 Bladepad case which will ship after the iPhone 5 is released. The Bladepad can currently be yours during their Early Bird Special for only $59.
The Bladepad is the case to have if you’re an avid iOS gamer. Fans of the first person shooter will love the dual analog sticks, giving them the ability to finally frag the enemy like they do on their Xbox or PS3. Check out the Bladepad now on Kickstarter, and check back with Mind Of The Geek, as we will be featuring the founders of the Bladepad as part of our New Geeks On The Block podcast and page very soon!
Until then, check out the Bladepad in action in the video below:
